Infants
(6 weeks to 18 months)
  • The Infant A Classroom is composed of children that range from 6 weeks to 6 months.
  • The Infant B Classroom is composed of children 6 months to 12 months or until they are mobile.
  • The Infant C Classroom is composed of children from 12-17/18 months.
Our Infant class provides an environment specifically suited to the developmental needs of very young children to become more self-sufficient and capable by following the directives of Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy. Dr. Montessori had a special vision for the very young child, and we manifest this in our infant program. Materials and equipment are specifically designed to help little muscles develop coordination, helping the child gain independence and self-esteem. In the Infant classroom the teacher’s job is to closely observe the child and present appropriate activities according to the needs of the child (Sensitive Period). One of the most important roles of a Montessori Directness is to adjust to the infants’ changing needs and help infants make an easy transition from one developmental stage to another. Teachers in the infant classroom either hold a Montessori teacher’s diploma or have an early childhood background with teaching experience.
Toddlers
(18 months to 3 years)
  • The Toddler classrooms are composed of children between the ages of 18-36 months. No matter how difficult the task, a toddler wants to do it himself.
Our Toddler program is designed to provide the tools for children to do things on their own. We provide materials that support our students’ need for independence as well as their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. This environment promotes the child to grow and develop according to his own potential and is self paced. Our highly trained teachers focus on providing meaningful activities that promote and allow exploration, movement, concentration, fine & gross motor development, language, and order. These activities and experiences are the foundation for their future academic success. Teachers in the toddler classroom either hold a Montessori teacher’s diploma or have an early childhood background with teaching experience.
Primary
(3 to 5 years)
The Primary classroom is composed of children between the ages of 3 -6 years. The mixed age group allows children to interact and learn from each other.
  • Older children’s self- esteem is raised by helping the younger children.
  • Younger children learn from the older children.
  • Children develop an awareness of the needs of others.
Primary classrooms are specifically designed to focus on the individuality of each child in respect of their needs and talents, as opposed to the needs of the class as a whole. We foster the process of self-creation by providing an environment in which the child can develop independently at his or her own pace while still gaining those social, physical, intellectual and emotional skills needed to function at best in society. Montessori believes that all children have within them their future self. For them to develop to their utmost potential, freedom to choose activities within an environment especially designed to help them fulfill their needs is essential. The Montessori curriculum, techniques and materials satisfy the natural tendency for this age. Independence, coordination, order, and concentration are developed through the materials. The children learn through doing, experiencing the joy of individual discovery and mastery on their own terms, at their own speed. An essential aspect The Primary Montessori Program of education is divided into five major categories: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Culture. Included within these subject areas are geography, science, art and music. The Primary Montessori Program is based on the three-year cycle, with the third year serving as the culmination of the preparatory work during the first two years.
SUMMER PROGRAM

Each Summer OWM offers a wonderful summer program. This program is open to all currently enrolled children. Our facility has extensive playgrounds, gym, and library. Each summer we choose a theme and then focus on the theme throughout the summer.
This year our summer theme was the Animal Kingdom. Our children were able to explore a new continent and the animals that inhabit them each week. They were equipped with a suitcase, different tickets for transportation, a map and a passport as they explored classrooms that were turned into a continent. At the end of each week the child would receive a stamp in their passport for that continent as well as creating a small craft of an animal on that continent.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

One World Montessori families are always on-the-go with a variety of activities and work responsibilities. In order to support our families and share some of the challenges involved in juggling everything, we are proud to offer additional special activities and services for a reasonable fee.

Children have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities right here at our school, during regular hours of operation.

Mrs. Tyra’s Dance and Yoga
Soccer Shots
Tickled Ivories
Mrs. Tyra is an Austinite and has taught in many public and private schools along with owning and operating her own dance studio over the past thirty eight years. Her resume includes teaching at One World Montessori since the first school opened. Growing up Mrs. Tyra began dancing from a very early age and fell in love with teaching children to dance while attending college. She knew then that this was her calling. Mrs. Tyra’s wish is that her students enjoy being active while learning the beginning skills of dance and yoga to take with them as they grow and to teach them with love and positive encouragement. Students will learn a strong foundation that builds coordination, strength and flexibility while having fun. Her goal is that her student’s first introduction to dance and yoga is a fun, positive and happy learning experience.
We offer a quality, high-energy soccer program with principled instruction wrapped in fun. Our creative curriculum emphasizes soccer skills as well as character development, which transcends the game itself.

Our mission is to be the premier intro-to-soccer provider across the globe and to do so in such a way that it leaves a lasting impact on the youth we serve.

Our motivation is to impact children in both soccer education and character development with application to all areas of children’s lives. We are motivated by a desire to see kids experience the game of soccer and to enjoy the rewards that participation in the game offers.

THINK FUN! THINK INTERACTIVE! THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

Children ages three and older learn the fundamentals of playing piano in small, motivating, peer groups while in schools, child care centers, churches, after school programs, and community locations. Our 3 or 4:1 teacher/student ratio is lowest among most other ancillary programs.

Thoroughly vetted piano educators with a passion and understanding for teaching young children teach on-site classes using touch sensitive, 61-key, electronic keyboards.

No piano at home? No worries! No instrument at home is required to begin lessons. Purchasing an instrument can be considered later and/or is always a great gift idea!

THE TICKLED IVORIES ADVANTAGE!
Research overwhelmingly supports that piano instruction provides numerous educational, developmental and social
advantages. Tickled Ivories makes this opportunity both convenient and affordable by bringing our exceptional piano learning adventure to both preschool and school-aged children.

CONVENIENCE!
We bring the teacher, instrument, and our creative piano learning adventure classes to your child at their school, child care center, or after school program in weekly, 30-minute classes. Lessons are taught while your child attends school which is both cost and time effective!
